Adopt a Dog
Newly adoptable dogs get posted on Facebook first, then they are added here as we have time. Our Facebook is updated more often because we can do that with our phone as we go. Just put the dog's name on the application that you are interested in or "match me" and put in what you are looking for in a dog. Please watch for an email response to your application with the pet's name and BHR or Broken Hearts Rescue in the subject box. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs and families, so we do the best we can.
Please be aware that many have had a rough start in life and our goal is to get them into the right home for them. Some may require a very specific home due to fears, experience requirements, or medical needs. A fully completed application is required for all dogs, as well as a home visit, and a meet and greet. All people and dogs living in the home must be at the meet and greet.
Adoption Fees for Dogs - $145 - $300 (depends on their medical/training cost)
*100% of adoption fees go to medical and supplies for the dog & cats in rescue.*
If you have any questions please let us know.
THANK YOU for your interest in saving lives through adoption!

Siri
Name: Siri
Age: 4 Years
Breed: Great Dane
Medical: Spayed, Vaccinated, Wormed, Gastropexy, Double Cherry Eye
Needs: Canine free home, special consideration for her food allergies.
Siri is a delightful 4-year-old grey Great Dane with a heart as big as her paws. This majestic girl is not just about her impressive size but also about her even more impressive personality. Siri is the ultimate people-lover, always ready with a wagging tail and a joyful disposition for anyone who crosses her path.
Her favorite activities include playing tug-of-war, playing dress-up, and fetching. Whether it’s a game of chase in the backyard or a playful tug session, Siri’s enthusiasm is boundless. She’s also an adventurous spirit who thrives on new experiences and car rides, making her an ideal companion for those who enjoy exploring the world together.
She is 1000% goofy girl. Though she sounds tough with her deep bark, she is more likely to tuck tail and hide behind you if something is scary. In fact, her recent trip to the vet had her sitting on her foster mom's lap while getting her vaccines. Water from a hose is so fun, until the hose turns on her, then it's a mad dash to run away, tripping over her feet as she goes.
Siri is a little bit of a drama queen if she wants to do something, like go for a walk and you tell her no. Like every child, she tends to voice her opinion on why life is not fair. I swear she knows what you are saying, and you can almost understand her side of the argument.
Siri has received professional training and is eager to continue her education with a family that can keep up with her active and inquisitive nature. She’s been spayed and had a gastropexy done, ensuring her health and well-being as she continues to enjoy her active lifestyle. While she’s naturally curious about cats and likes to investigate them, she has shown no inclination to chase the ones in her current foster home, proving that she can coexist peacefully with feline friends given the right environment.
If you’re looking for a gentle giant who will bring joy, playfulness, and a touch of adventure into your life, Siri might just be the perfect addition to your family. She’s ready to share her love and loyalty with a new family who appreciates her unique charm and can provide the loving guidance she thrives on. Her adoption fee is $300 to help cover her medical and training.

Braelynn
**Meet Braelynn: The Shy Sweetheart**
Age: approximately 6 yrs
Breed: we were told Chiweenie
Medical: completed - spayed, shots including rabies, wormed.
Needs: No kids, no big dogs, love & patience, safe space.
Braelynn is a gentle soul with a heart full of love, waiting for the perfect family to help her bloom. Rescued from a kill shelter in California after losing her human parent, she was one of 17 dogs in a desperate situation. Thanks to the tireless efforts of several rescues, Braelynn and her companions were given a second chance at life.
This shy girl is still learning what it means to be a beloved pet. Having spent much of her early life without proper socialization, she is looking for a calm, patient home without children, where she can take her time to build trust and confidence. Braelynn, finds solace in her kennel and bed, her personal safe haven, where she often spends her day with the door wide open, ready to explore at her own pace.
While she is potty trained and doesn’t chew inappropriately, it took her a few months to feel comfortable enough to venture outside. Now, she bravely does her business and quickly returns indoors, still finding the outside world a bit intimidating.
Braelynn’s favorite moments come when she can cuddle on her foster mom’s lap on the back porch. Here, she feels safe enough to relax and even doze off in the warmth of trust. Though being picked up can be scary for her, with the right person, she learns to embrace the comfort it brings.
This amazing girl is ready to find a forever home that understands her journey. If you're someone who values patience and is willing to give Braelynn the time she needs to flourish, you’ll discover a loyal companion who is so worth the effort. Together, you can help her learn to love and be loved in return.

Copper
Name: Copper
Age: about 1 year
Breed: We were told a cowboy corgi
Medical: Completed- neutered, shots and wormed
Needs: quiet environment with patient family and another playful dog. No kids
Introducing Copper, the adorable and reserved puppy! Copper may appear reserved at first, but once he trusts you, he will shower you with love and affection. He is a social butterfly when it comes to playing with other dogs and is perfectly fine with cats.
Copper is highly motivated by treats, making training sessions a breeze. He has a fondness for blankets and finds comfort in his crate, which serves as his safe haven. Playing with toys brings him immense joy and entertainment.
This sweet pup has been neutered and has received all his necessary puppy shots and worming treatments. Copper's journey to us began when his previous owners callously abandoned him in a store parking lot, as they were unable to sell him but did his siblings.
Thankfully, Animal Control rescued him and reached out to our rescue organization, where Copper found the love and care he truly deserved. Copper has made great strides in learning to trust but will need a quiet family willing to give him the time he needs to adjust to his new environment and family.
Copper would thrive in a home with another grounded and playful dog, as they can provide companionship and endless playtime. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Copper is eagerly waiting to become a part of your family.

Regina
Meet Regina: Our Sweet Terrier Mix!**
Everyone, we’d like to introduce you to Regina, a vibrant little furball who’s about 2-3 years old and bursting with energy!
Regina is a true sweetheart who lights up the room with her joy. Every time she sees her people, whether it’s the first greeting of the day or a return home, her excitement is contagious! While she may be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly. Once she decides you’re okay, get ready for your new shadow; she’ll want to be by your side all the time.
Regina has a bit of a sad past. She was found alongside another little dog, abandoned and trying to survive in the desert. We don’t know how long she was out there, but she came to us very skinny. Thankfully, she’s gained some weight and is now around 6 pounds, close to her ideal size (she might reach 7 pounds but should not get much bigger).
This little lady is potty pad trained but prefers to do her business outside. She’s not fazed by the weather, as long as she’s with you! Regina is still adjusting to being carried but is learning to enjoy it more each day. Above all, she craves love and affection—she just wants to be held and cherished!
**A note for potential adopters:** Regina would do best in a home without big dogs or young children, as she gets nervous around them. We recommend a household with teenagers or adults. Additionally, she thrives with a small dog companion—whether it’s the one she came in with or another small dog, having a furry friend is essential for her happiness. While she may bark at cats, she has not tried to hurt one.
Regina is an absolute joy to have around, and we know she’ll bring endless love to the right home. If you think you could be the one to make her feel safe and loved, please fill out our adoption application to schedule a meet and greet.
Let’s help Regina find her forever family and the loving life she deserves!

Raina
**Meet Raina: Our Shy but Sweet Terrier Mix!**
Introducing Raina, a petite little lady weighing just under 6 pounds. She came to us alongside her friend Regina, and while she’s a tad smaller, her spirit is just as vibrant!
Raina is about 1-2 yrs old and, although she’s a bit more reserved and shy than Regina, she has a playful curiosity about the world around her. Once she trusts you, she shows her excitement by following you everywhere, eager to explore and discover new things. Her self-confidence shines through when she’s out on her own, but she definitely needs some time to warm up to new people.
Having been dumped in the desert, we don’t know how long Raina and Regina were on their own, but they both arrived very skinny. Thankfully, she’s now gaining some weight and is on her way to reaching her ideal weight of around 6 to 6.5 pounds.
Raina is potty trained and will use a potty pad if she can’t get outside. While she may bark at cats, she has never tried to hurt one. She’s timid around large dogs and young children, so we’re looking for a home with teens or adults and no big dogs.
Though Raina and Regina share a resemblance, we’re not certain if they’re related. They enjoy each other’s company but aren’t fully bonded, making it possible for them to be adopted separately, especially if there’s another grounded small dog in the home. They’ve been having a great time with our mama dog, showcasing their playful side together!
With a little patience and love, Raina will become a delightful addition to a family. She’s still skittish about being picked up, especially by strangers, but she’s learning to feel more comfortable. Raina is an absolute sweetheart with a lot of energy and a love for exploration. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion, Reina could be the perfect fit!
Let’s help Raina find her forever home!
